SkyTOP CEO Presides over KESSHA Conference As Chief Guest

June 25, 2018

SkyTOP Technologies CEO, Mr. Paniel Mwaura, today presided over the chief guest at the annual Kenya Secondary School Heads Association (KESSHA) regional conference – Central Kenya Chapter, held at Tom Mboya Labour College, Kisumu city.

KESSHA is a professional organization comprising of about 7,000 members drawn from public and private Secondary Schools in the republic of Kenya. It was established in the late sixties with the sole purpose of providing professional advice to its members spread in all the eight Provinces of Kenya.

The CEO gave a key-note address on ICT and Technology for Education and Development with a special focus on Singapore- a tiny city-state that has moved from ‘developing’ to developed’ status in just one generation. The country is in many ways an exceptional case, but that doesn’t mean that its experience is not instructive for other countries like Kenya. And her Masterplan for ICT in Education is perhaps the model for forward-thinking, holistic and flexible policy-making in this area.

The CEO also took the opportunity to create awareness about the CiSA programme and its potential to drive the country’s development agenda in line with Vision 2030, the new constitution and the ongoing education reforms in Kenya.

Participants were elated and the more than 400 high school principals in attendance signed up for the CiSA programme immediately, with some even requesting that it be included in the Kenya secondary school curriculum to facilitate easier and faster adoption in schools.
