SkyTOP Technologies Ltd is a company incorporated and registered in Kenya in 2006. Our core business is the development of software solutions for the building and construction industry, the manufacturing industry and the education sector. Our solutions seek to enhance the adoption and use of Computer Aided Design (CAD) and Building Information Modeling (BIM) software programs by professionals in these sectors (architecture, engineering, design, survey etc.),  students and trainers in education and training institutions (high schools, TVETS and universities).

One of our premier products is SkyTOP DemosCAD- a software program built around Autodesk AutoCAD- the most widely used CAD software program in the world. Through SkyTOP DemosCAD, we intend to let professionals and students around the world become passionate and skilled in Autodesk AutoCAD.

Mobile Application Developers

Position Overview

We’re growing our Mobile Development team at SkyTOP. Our engineering culture will empower you to make effective decisions, work collaboratively and take accountability for engineering projects at the core of the company and the leading edge of the latest industry technology trends.

The team is seeking a software developer for Mobile Application development for our Growing Mobile team. The software developer will work as part of a cross-functional effort with engineering teams, marketing, and internal customers to design and implement a best-in-class user experience for our end users. In addition to building and maintaining multiple mobile applications, the developer will also play an important role in the Quality Assurance of the applications. The ideal candidate is comfortable wearing multiple hats: diplomat, reporter, translator, firefighter.

Responsibilities

• Being hyper-productive in delivering quality software early and often.
• Working with end-user group to assess customer needs and gather requirements for successful delivery of feature requests and enhancements.
• Planning and execution of development stories for mobile application features and enhancements.
• Identify and troubleshoot bugs in multiple mobile applications.
• Build, maintain and enhance testing automation.
• Troubleshooting operational issues within mobile application platforms and determining the best course of action to remedy the issues.
• Participate in Agile practice activities – standups, sprint planning, demos, retrospective

Minimum Qualifications

• Ability to execute with high-velocity and high-quality on planned deliverables.
• Preference for collaborative work within an agile practice as a member of a multi-discipline team.
• Display excellence, courage, decisiveness and collaboration.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• 2+ years of mobile app development with a focus on building high quality responsive user interface.
• Proficiency in building Cross-Platform Mobile Applications (iOS, Android) or willingness to learn and switch between platforms as and when required.
• Proficiency with building RESTful and SOAP based services.
• Proficiency in Java/C#/JavaScript or similar high-level languages and willingness to pick up new languages as necessary.
• Experience with RDBMS and NOSQL Databases.
• Proficiency with Git source control and Git-based development practices.
• Proficiency with software testing automation frameworks: Appium, Selendroid
• Cloud Computing: Amazon Web Services preferred.
• Familiarity with Behavioral and Test-Driven Development practices and tools.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and processes
• Bachelor’s Degree or College Diploma in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of python is an added advantage.
